Daily Update

The good news is that 3 Americans are coming home!  In a gesture of good will, North Korea has released the men who appear to be in fairly good health and able to walk on their own.   Kudos to President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

In their haste to criticize the Trump Administration, the NY Times slammed Secretary of State Pompeo for not being with President Trump as he withdrew of the Iran Nuclear Deal.  As President Trump said: ‘America Will Not Be Held Hostage to Nuclear Blackmail.‘  It is good to know that this administration is in control and able to keep the press at bay.

Ben Shapiro opines on the day the Iran deal died.

This headline must really drive the main stream media off the rails;  Media get trumped: President’s polls improve despite 90% negative coverage.

Regarding the Iran Nuclear Deal, President Obama is still out of touch with what is best for AMERICA!

Trying to remain in the headlines, former FBI Director James Comey blasts anti-Trump FBI agents over extramarital affair and anti-Trump texts.  Really, now you blast them?  I think James Comey has plenty to explain about his own lack of being true to the Bureau’s values.  Care to explain these digressions, Mr. Comey?

Guy Benson’s analysis:   Why Tuesday’s Primary Results Are Good News for Republicans.

Great article by Bob McManus;  Spitzer, Weiner, Schneiderman: a bunch of power-hungry perverts.  Part of what Mr. McManus writes is “there is no natural check on those who do violence to the spirit of democratic self-government. To the rule of law.”  However, we believe that one natural check is TERM LIMITS!

The NY Post editorial points out how everyone looked the other way to protect Schneiderman saying “he was too valuable a politician for the Democrats to lose.”  If you can’t run for multiple terms, you don’t become too valuable a politician – in any party – to lose.

Schneiderman’s fall tears hole in anti-Trump coalition.    Unfortunately, there are far too many seeking to fill the void.

According to the New Republic, New York is finally number 1.  However, who wants to be the most politically toxic place in America.  Thanks Governor Cuomo and AG Eric Schneiderman: another slap at what used to be the Empire State.

Daily Update

The political world was rocked last evening by an article in the New Yorker, possibly one of the most succinct and believable exposé written recently.  It was so believable that New York’s Attorney General tendered his resignation within 4 hours of its release.  Mr. Schneiderman’s resignation is another in a long line of elected (and some appointed) officials in New York that succumbed to greed or personal gratification at the expense of others.   (The irony in the Schneiderman case is his hypocrisy of being a staunch supporter of the #MeToo movement.)  Ethic proposals have been made to curb the abuses; however, they have had little or no effect in ending the disgraceful and reprehensible actions of those who believe they are above the law.  New York must enact term limits.  When candidates ask for your vote, ask them if they are committed to passing term limits.  Their answer will speak volumes.

Just for the record, Schneiderman’s record as AG was not what the liberal press is telling you.  His lawsuits were more about his political ambitions than what was right for New York State.

Corruption, unfortunately, is not limited to elected officials, as noted some are appointed by elected officials.  When term limits are enacted it will also be a tool to prevent corruption when individuals are appointed by elected officials who are subjected to term limits.

GOP state senator under fire after proposing voter ID laws.  Democrats are determined to make voting easier for people – early voting, same day registration – both increasing the possibility of voter fraud – however, requiring a voter ID would assure that the possibility of voter fraud would be dramatically reduced.  The general public needs a photo ID to enter federal building, travel throughout America on public transportation and as Sen. Murphy states even to obtain a fishing license.  Democrats that oppose a photo ID to vote are insincere in their objections when they state it would “discriminate against minorities and lead to voter suppression,” by creating scare tactics.    If the democratic opposing justification were true, a photo ID would have the same effect when minorities go to purchase travel tickets, enter a federal building, and go fishing legally. Do you see that producing a photo ID in these circumstances has that effect?  Neither do I.

Isn’t this interesting?  The children of Cynthia Nixon, Samantha Bee, and Louis C.K. got into this popular public middle school, while hundreds of others are shut out every year.  Can’t help but wonder if Ms. Nixon’s wife and anything to do with getting her children in.

SCHNEIDERMAN’S OWN WORDS CALL FOR TERM LIMITS “I AM THE LAW”

Brooklyn, NY — The revelations in today’s New Yorker article, Four Women Accuse New York’s Attorney General of Physical Abuse, are both distressing and tragic to learn that the chief law enforcement officer of New York State could be so self-absorbed that he would stoop to slap, choke, control, and threaten woman while condemning the same actions of others.

As the article points out, when AG Schneiderman was a Senator he created specific penalties for strangulation. He introduced the bill in 2010, after chairing a committee that investigated domestic-violence charges against the former state senator Hiram Monserrate, a Democrat, who was expelled from the legislature
after having been convicted of assaulting his girlfriend.

He has evolved into a man who yanked his then girl-friend across the street and when she reminded him that jaywalking was against the law, responded with “I am the law.”

Corruption is out of control in New York State; nothing that Governor Andrew Cuomo or the legislature has done, has curbed the rampant corruption that has prevailed over the last decade at many levels of government.

Our government was never designed to have full time, life long terms. Term limits were imposed on a president who went too far in controlling government; it is long past time that term limits be enacted for all levels of government officials to prevent some from believing that they too are above the law.

Weekly Wrap-Up

It’s history in the making, but the media has never given President Trump any credit for his Administration’s work on the Korean situation, and they are not about to start now.

Let’s get right to the first question in our new Weekly Poll: What do you think is the MAIN reason that media elites aren’t reporting more about the possibility of peace between South Korea and North Korea?

We’re seeing a similar situation with the latest revelations about the Obama Administration’s sham Iran deal – the liberal “echo chamber” says it’s no big deal, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s revelations this week could bring the whole ordeal to a well-deserved end.

We have a good-news job report to end the week, with unemployment at a 17-year low and black and Hispanic unemployment rates at record lows – and of course, the left thinks Obama deserves all the credit. Young voters, though, seem to be getting the real story.

Last week I talked about the left’s idea for “guaranteed jobs,” and this week you might have heard about new polling showing that almost half of Americans support such an idea.  It’s wise to be very skeptical of those poll numbers.

This week, thanks to Hillary Clinton herself, we discovered yet another reason why Hillary lost: Capitalism. As you’ll recall, Hillary is a big believer in free markets when it comes to her speaking fees.

She’s still got a tough race ahead of her, but Cynthia Nixon is gaining ground on Andrew Cuomo, and she’s gaining endorsements from left-wing groups. Is this Cuomo’s last act?

What do you think is driving Ms. Nixon’s upswing in the polls? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

After having little choice but to sign the latest bloated budget passed by Congress, President Trump is expected to soon propose $11 billion in spending cuts, under a budget tool known as “rescission.”

The swamp has been busy protecting its own, but there are plenty of great ideas for how spending can be cut. Where in the federal budget would you MOST like to see reductions? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

I don’t know how I came across this article today, but the headline certainly caught my attention.  Adirondack Park Is Bigger Than Death Valley and Yellowstone Combined.  It is an informative short article about the Adirondack Park, that happens to be the largest state park, and the largest publicly protected area of any kind in the lower 48 states. At six million acres, it’s bigger than two Central American countries, and bigger than two nations of former Yugoslavia.  Obviously,  it wasn’t large enough for Governor Andrew Cuomo who just added 618 acres to the Forest Preserve.  The state paid the Open Space Institute $676,000 for the land.  Do you think the wildlife that includes nesting bald eagles, goshawks, grouse, turkeys, and porcupine will be able to pay what humans would pay if they occupied the 4,000 feet of lake frontage?  Neither do I.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Just in time for campaign season, Andrew Cuomo is attacking one of the left’s most hated targets – immigration law enforcement.  Fortunately ICE isn’t taking these attacks lying down.

When Cuomo accuses others of bullying and intimidation, the hypocrisy is breathtaking.

How much do you think Gov. Cuomo’s attacks on ICE and immigration law enforcement are motivated by politics? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

The Governor isn’t the only liberal who gets a kick out of berating law enforcement.

As Cuomo tries to keep illegal residents here, citizens for some time have been leaving our state for more tax-friendly spots at an alarming rate, and the problem is poised to get even worse under our current tax system.

Will President Trump get the Nobel Prize? Barack Obama received one for accomplishing much less than this – an historic thawing of relations between North and South Korea. Even some on the left think the idea is no joke.

What do you think are the chances of President Trump winning the Nobel Peace Prize? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

The economy continues with strong growth, but for Democrats it’s all gloom-and-doom – and they think government work is the answer to the virtually nonexistent problem they’ve concocted.

Like Cuomo’s attacks on law enforcement, this move also reeks of politics because, as Cal Thomas points out, “it taps into a growing feeling, particularly among many young Americans, for whom feelings, not results, are ultimately what liberalism relies on.”

What do you think would be most detrimental about the Bernie Sanders Democrats’ “government jobs for all” plan? That’s the final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!
