Weekly Wrap-Up

“The Comey Show” didn’t live up to the hype – by most accounts it was a pretty weak case put forth by the former FBI Director. But the Democrats’ hatred of President Trump was and still is strong.

We did learn that President Trump has not been under FBI investigation – as Sen. Marco Rubio wisely pointed out, this is seemingly the ONLY nugget of information that somehow wasn’t leaked out by Team Comey.

Seems like Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and virtually the entire media owe President Trump an apology – but I certainly won’t be holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

We also learned what many of us suspected – that Obama’s Attorney General Loretta Lynch wasn’t seeking justice but playing partisan games with investigations (er, “matters”) into Hillary’s wrongdoing. Will Hillary be adding Mrs. Lynch to her laundry list of people to blame for her 2016 defeat?

Suddenly The New York Times is concerned about Loretta Lynch’s independence – did this not occur to them almost a year ago after her secret tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton?

The Times had problems of its own as Comey testified that one of their blockbuster stories about Trump and Russia was fake news. The New York Post lays out the liberals’ dilemma: You can’t trust both Comey and the Times.

Now, on to this week’s poll questions. Of course the James Comey testimony was the week’s big news, so we’ll start there: What do you think is the BIGGEST IMPACT of Comey’s Senate testimony?

There are endless lists of “winners” and “losers” in the wake of Comey’s testimony. Who among the anti-Trump forces do you believe came out of Thursday’s spectacle as the biggest loser? That’s our Weekly Poll’s second question.

Finally, a question that was practically written for me, and just in time since quite a bit of this week’s Wrap-Up deals with fake news and media malpractice: A new Quinnipiac poll asked a question about the media’s coverage of the political scene, and whether it makes Americans feel enthusiastic, satisfied but not enthusiastic, dissatisfied but not angry, or angry. How would you have answered if you had been included in this poll?

Have a great weekend!

Daily Update

New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito has an agenda, and this statement proves that she is deaf to where New York City residents stand when it comes to honoring a convicted terrorist.    The Speaker always seeks the spotlight, however, on this issue she avoids the press.

The NY Post and the rest of New Yorkers want to know how would the mayor keep juvenile criminals off the streets?

Talk about stirring the pot, what is Governor Cuomo talking about when he says “Start with me” regarding deporting immigrants.  Really, Governor Cuomo, how downright reprehensible to compare American citizens born here to those who enter our country illegally.  Do you lock your door at night or do you leave it open for anyone to come in your home?  (Of course, you don’t have to worry about locking your door since you have the constant presence of your taxpayer funded state police detail give you protection; ordinary citizens do not have that luxury.) My grandparents emigrated to America, as did yours, legally.  That is all we ask, that anyone who wants to live in America, to do so legally, by knocking on the front door and asking to come into our home.  Governor, identity politics, the politics that drives you, is reprehensible.

Congressman Chris Collins has no fear of the Governor’s stated plan to remove New York’s  GOP Members of Congress.  In fact, Congressman Collins says, bring it on!

Daily Update

NY City increases its budget by $1.7B over last year’s budget and overall by 22% since de Blasio has been Mayor.  The Mayor and members of the City Council applauded themselves on the increased spending, while over-taxed middle-class families worry how they can sustain the constant increases in taxes to pay for all the new and expanded handouts.

June 6, 1944…73 years later, we MUST remember D-Day and thank the greatest generation for their sacrifices.  Today we thank the brave young men and women who are protecting the values the greatest generation fought for … Freedom…the freedom to be all that we can be.  We Salute you and pray for you and your families.

Betsy McCaughey writes:  the war on e-cigs is now national.  Betsy certainly hits the nail on the head with this, “Hypocrisy has reached new heights, even by Washington’s standards. The same left-wing senators who support needle-exchange and methadone programs to reduce harm to drug addicts and demand condoms for high-schoolers are waging war against the most effective harm reducer of all — e-cigarettes.”

Matthew Continetti writes about another great conservative icon (who has also left us), the irreplaceable William F. Buckley, Jr.

Ralph Z. Hallow opines on the NYS Conservative Party’s annual dinner in the Washington Times.

Governor Cuomo thinks he is already president of the United States as he bullies private health insurance companies by telling them if they withdraw from the Obamacare Health Exchanges they will not be allowed to participate in Medicaid or the Children’s Health Plan.  He will also require them to provide the 10 essential “health benefits” required by Obamacare…all of this bluster prior to knowing what the final revised bill will contain.  Some believe that Gov. Cuomo’s plan would bring more uncertainty to NY Insurers.  Meanwhile, Obamacare continues to fail.

More bad news for New York:  State population getting older as young people leave upstate area.  This is a major reason why young people are fleeing New York:  New York ranks 32 among states as best location to find jobs, study shows.

The Mayor, believes that taking mass transit would be “cheap symbolism.”  However, he has no problem with Oscar Lopez Rivera’s cheap symbolism in saying  “ I’m just marching as a “humble Puerto Rican grandfather,”     The latest Puerto Rican parade twist is just damage control.

Poor Bill, his legal troubles have been very costly, how will he pay for them?  Will taxpayers ultimately end up paying them?

Weekly Wrap-Up

“I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris,” President Trump stated brilliantly as he announced his decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement.

And don’t forget the citizens of Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Pomfret and every New York city and town across the state that has been left behind by the liberals’ radical environmental agenda.

As Kellyanne Conway puts it, President Trump promised to protect America and that’s exactly what he’s doing. (If you made it to our 55th Annual Dinner last night where Kellyanne was our special guest, you know what an extraordinary spokesperson she is for this Administration!)

I agree with the President – the Paris Accord is a BAD deal for Americans… a poorly-negotiated plan that overregulates our country at the expense of our economy and job growth, while giving a free pass to the top global emitters, like China. As the world leader in energy production the last thing the U.S. needs is a bad deal that will harm American workers.

What do you think is the BEST reason for freeing our country from this Obama-Era boondoggle? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll – vote now!

Liberals are of course outraged, but President Trump is doing the right thing for America, plus a huge favor to our economy.

What do you think President Trump’s determination to get America out from under the Paris Accord says about his leadership? That’s our new Weekly Poll’s second question, and I look forward to seeing the answers.

Of course Hillary Clinton chimed in on the matter, because she cares oh-so-much about reducing carbon emissions. Do as I say, not as I do – that’s the Clinton Way.

Hillary has hit a new low in her “blame game” post-election crusade, ascribing her loss to a long list of enemies while ignoring her own worst enemy: herself

What do you think this says about Hillary’s leadership? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

BREAKING NEWS: Oscar Lopez Rivera won’t be honored after all in the upcoming Puerto Rican Day Parade – not formally, anyway… but he will still be part of the festivities. But is the damage already done?

Have a great weekend!

Daily Update

Malliotakis calls for de Blasio to drop out of Puerto Rican Day Parade.  “I think it’s completely outrageous that we have a mayor and a Council speaker who think it’s appropriate to not only attend, but to march alongside the leader of the organization that claimed responsibility for these attacks on our city,” said Malliotakis, a member of the state Assembly.   Did you know that Staten Island Borough President, James Oddo endorsed Nicole’s run for Mayor?  And today, former candidate for NYC Mayor, Joe Lhota, also endorsed the Assemblywoman.

Michael Goodwin is blunt in his assessment of today’s democrats.   Goodwin reminds me of one of former President Ronald Reagan’s famous quotes, “I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.,” and that was long before (1962) the democrats in leadership positions  today find it necessary to honor a convicted terrorist

We hope you all had a safe and uplifting Memorial Day and had the chance to partake in Memorial Day festivities.  Thank you to all our veterans, those who gave their all, those who are still giving and future veterans who will take up the cause of freedom…we pray for you and your families

Chris Pope writes in National Review online about the single-payer mirage an excellent article that everyone who support single-payer health care should read, including elected officials. California is shocked as to the cost of this progressive dream, taxpayer nightmare.

We used to be deplorable, now we are crazy!  Hillary, let it go, you failed, you lost because of things you did, just let it go and try to be a good grandmother, not a bitter curmudgeon.

Late Friday night, Governor Cuomo came to his senses and decided he would not march in the Puerto Rican Day Parade.  Certainly, took him long enough to decide and to be honest, he most likely thought it was a safe bet since so many others had already withdrawn.  The extremism of Speaker Mark-Viverito is obvious with her support of a convicted terrorist.   It even spills over to the woman Mark-Viverito has endorsed to replace her in the City Council since she is term-limited out this coming January.

The Governor was right to reject marching in the Puerto Rican Day Parade, however, the NaturalizeNYprogram he started, has total disdain of the taxpayers forced to pay for it.  If one cannot afford the $725 application fee to become a citizen, one can register for a lottery drawing to be awarded the fee.

The $10M set aside becomes even more distressing when New York’s fiscal picture has become murkier in light of the fact that tax receipts were $601 less than projected.

George J. Marlin outlines part of Governor Cuomo’s spending in his latest column here.

The NYS Court of Appeals has a life-saving opportunity today as it hears the appeal of Meyer v. Schneiderman.  The plaintiffs’ ill-founded claims have been rejected by a trial court judge and by a unanimous panel of Appellate Division judges; it is hoped that the Court of Appeals will reject them as well. The New York Alliance Against Assisted Suicide has more information on what the lawsuit and proposed legislation is about.

Senator Chuck Schumer just loves to spread the politics of fear, while Larry Kudlow spreads the hope in President Trump’s proposed budget.

Weekly Wrap-Up

Another week of President Trump’s allies being convicted of high crimes without a trial – and we’re seeing more and more leaks designed solely to undermine our President… even if it jeopardizes the country’s security

This week’s attack in Manchester is the logical result of Barack Obama’s “smart power” agenda as President – another mess left for President Trump to handle. Yet Obama still seeks to govern “in exile,” lecturing Americans about “hiding behind walls” while literally hiding behind a wall. He fits right in with the Democrats’ inane pop-star fans, as does the bitter Hillary Clinton with her endless lectures to the American people.

Which group do you believe is MOST determined to sabotage the Trump Administration? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

The President’s speech in Saudi Arabia earned praise from national security experts and opened the door for a renaissance in the Muslim world. Naturally Nancy Pelosi and the liberals lost their minds over it.

What do you believe is the MOST POWERFUL quote from President Trump’s address to the Muslim world in Saudi Arabia? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

This week President Trump delivered a balanced, “optimistic” budget – a true stimulus – to a seemingly unbalanced Congress. Washington hates it, and naturally Chuck Schumer and the liberals lost their minds over it. (See a pattern here?) Let’s take care of some of the liberal myths right here, right now.

What do you like BEST about President Trump’s new budget proposal? That’s the third question in our new Weekly Poll.

“A great win in Montana” – that’s how President Trump describes the good news for Republicans this week, as a (literally) hard-fought special election for the state’s at-large House seat went to the GOP. Ironically, the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves

Now if only Republicans in Washington would stop falling for the media’s “divide-and-conquer” strategy against President Trump. Investor’s Business Daily counsels Republicans to act like they’re going to lose control of Congress in 2018 and make much-needed reforms while they can – and make no mistake, the Democrats are already plotting the destructive policies they’ll approve if they do take back the House.

Fleet Week is here – a chance to say thanks to those who keep us safe. And some gave all defending America… let’s remember them and the real meaning of Memorial Day this weekend.

Have a great one!

Daily Update

Oh Melissa, did you think no one would remember this:  Melissa Mark-Viverito’s parade hypocrisy. The NY Post editorial board wants to know if Gov. Cuomo will march to honor a terrorist?  All New Yorkers want to know if the man who craves to be president will march to honor the co-founder and bomb maker of FALN

And so, it begins again: State acquires 6000 acres of protected land in Oswego County.  In 1973, the state began acquiring land in the Adirondacks under Governor Rockefeller.  Take a look at the changes over the years.  The Adirondack Council wants even more control.

The Observer reminds us that Mayor de Blasio either has an incompetent staff or he is hoping that we forget he vowed he would provide a list of donors who didn’t get city favors.  The Mayor has a solution to the parking mess he created, and your tax dollars will be used to hire 100 more traffic enforcers.  (City employees, great pension, and benefits, indebted to him for a job, could that have been his plan all along.)  Here is what the editorial board of the NY Post thinks of his shenanigans.

Grover Norquist: CBO Is ‘Guessing’ on AHCA Analysis.  The Daily Signal writes about the key takeaways of the CBO Score.  And Guy Benson does a fact check debunking the most outrageous claims made by the main stream media.. By the way:  It’s Failing: Obamacare Premiums on Federal Exchange Have Soared By 105 Percent Since 2013.  It’s fact, not fake: Americans crushed by ObamaCare premiums.

On the Trump budget proposal:  Dems blast budget cuts, conservatives give thumbs-up.  Investor’s Business Daily has this to say about President Trump’s budget proposal.

From the Daily Signal:  Trump is Not Pro-Russia, Despite what the media says

Where is the main stream media on the fact that President Obama allowed this and this?  Obviously, it does not fit their narrative; the privacy and safety of Americans is secondary to their agenda of protecting the legacy of Barack Obama.

Congressman, is this why you went to Congress?  We thought you just wanted to fight for your constituents.

Daily Update

Sometimes the left just makes me laugh out loud.  Guy Benson, writing in Townhall.com, informs us that in the recent California state party election for chairman, some progressive party members allege voter fraud and are demanding voter ID.  Imagine that, progressives in California demanding voter ID to prevent fraud in their elections — sweet, sweet news.

The democrats have some strange rules lately:  (Didn’t they preach about a “big tent”?)  Suicide by litmus test.

The NY Post editorial opines on the truth in President Trump’s “savage” cuts and the Washington Times runs this headline –  Trump sends optimistic budget to pessimistic Congress  – in  S. A. Miller and Stephen Dinan’s article regarding the President’s budget proposal.  The Daily Signal has this assessment of the proposal.  Mick Mulvaney defends cuts before Congress.

Mayor de Blasio, shooting his mouth off without knowing the facts (Again!), campaigns on the politics of fear.

Daily Update

Kudos to the Yankees and JetBlue as they join the list of those boycotting the Puerto Rican Day Parade.  And the NYFD union joins the boycott

Will someone please explain this to me...NYPD Commissioner will not march in the Puerto Rican Day Parade (he is 100% correct for not marching) due to the honoring of FLAN’s co-founder and the bombs he is responsible for making and terrorizing NYC,  then we learn that the  NYPD is refusing to comply with the feds’ request to detain illegal immigrants — anyone of which could have the same mindset of Oscar Lopes Rivera since NYC is a sanctuary city where terrorists know they have a better chance of not being caught.  It isn’t only a problem in New York City:  Staggering number of visa overstays now biggest problem in illegal immigration. And as a reminder, at least five of the nineteen 911 hijackers overstayed their visas.

Programming Alert:   Wednesday, 5/24. Chairman Long will appear on  NY1’s Town Hall meeting to discuss immigration with other distinguished guests and a live audience.  For more information, click here.

Governor Cuomo continues to pursue his presidential pipe dream, albeit, he is not using his bullhorn when increasing spending.

Bill Hammond has a great column in today’s NY Post regarding the democrats lunatic push for single-payer health care.  For your information, California’s price tag on universal health care is in, and it’s bigger than California’s budget.

Republicans go to jail, democrats run free.

The left isn’t going to like former CIA Director James Brennan’s remarks to Congress today.

And the progressive left will really lose their minds when they see President Trump’s first taxpayer’s budget.  This is what Stephen Moore has to say about President Trump’s tax cuts.  The Daily Signal has this to say about the budget.

By the time the progressives see this in the Wall Street Journal (subscription required) they will be so overwrought they won’t be able to think.  (Too bad most PL’s [progressive liberals] do not read the WSJ)

Donald Devine recognizes that the PL plan is impeachment.  Read his thoughts here

Peter Barry Chowka makes a valid point in this American Thinker piece.

Roger L. Simon opines in PJ Media —  Manchester: This time they came for our children.  Another horrific example of the evil in today’s world.
