CONSERVATIVES HONOR THREE OUTSTANDING NEW YORKERS

Albany, NY – Last evening, the Conservative Party of New York State, honored Senate Majority Leader John J. Flanagan, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis and Rockland County Chairman William R. Beckmann for the work they have done to keep the Conservative Torch alive in New York State.

Senate Majority Leader John J. Flanagan was presented with the Defender of Life Award by State Chairman Michael R. Long for being there throughout his career to protect the sanctity of life of innocent unborn children through their natural death. Sen. Flanagan, in accepting the award, thanked the Conservative Party for its set of standards that they do not deviate from no matter how the winds blow. Senator Flanagan has never waived in his staunch pro-life stance thereby earning the Party’s Defender of Life Award.

Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis was presented with the Profile in Courage Award, by Chairman Long, forgoing against all odds to run for Mayor of New York City in 2017. When accepting the award, Assemblywoman Malliotakis, said that it was her honor to be the person to represent the people in New York City who wanted the chance to make every aspect of their lives better in the city that has a history of creating opportunities for those who choose to work hard to achieve their dreams.

Rockland County Chairman William R. Beckmann received the J. Daniel Mahoney Award for the work that he has done to further the conservative principles that the Party’s long time Chair and founding member set in 1962. Chairman Beckmann was humbled to receive the award and honored to be recognized for the work he continues to do on a daily basis.

Daily Update

The New York Times calls out Governor Andrew Cuomo’s “forgetfulness.”   When the Governor was asked if the Joe Percoco trial would reflect badly on him, he discounted the assertion calling to “political garbage” and went on to say he had not be implemented in Percoco’s schemes and suggested his name “was never mentioned” in the 8-week trial.  It was.  136 times.

The headline bellows that Governor Cuomo disagrees with parole of ex-radical who killed cops.  Well then Governor — do something to change it!  Fire the Parole Board Members, have Herman Bell appear before all the Parole Board Members to see if the three members that you appointed uphold the decision.  Do something to keep this wanton, cold-blooded, “I can fool the Parole Board” cop-killer in prison where he belongs until he dies.  Governor Cuomo don’t just say you disagree with the decision – do what is right and overturn it.

Tom Precious writes about the latest polling on Governor Cuomo and his job as Governor.  It is an honest clarification of Cuomo’s polling numbers.

Cuomo’s ‘pro-woman’ agenda is all about gifts to abortion extremists.   If you do not know just how far Governor Cuomo is trying to expand abortion, in the budget, you must read this article and take the appropriate action – call your legislator and tell them 1) this proposal is appalling policy and goes too far in expanding abortion in New York State and 2) it certainly is not a budget item.

Unfortunately, this happens all too often in New York State.

Weekly Wrap-Up

“Stop, Hillary. Just stop.” That’s the message from the New York Post after Hillary Clinton’s latest post-election analysis – Trump won, Hillary believes, because those who dared to oppose her are weak and bigoted. Well over one year later, Hillary is still obsessed with us deplorables.

How would you describe Hillary Clinton’s endless effort to blame her 2016 loss on “backwards” American voters? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Election-wise, this was not a good week for Republicans – but was it really a good week for Democrats, either?

It’s not over, but the GOP can learn from this week’s race in Pennsylvania, and however it ends up the Democratic Party can hardly hope to replicate this campaign – not unless they want to elect a full slate of Representatives who claim to support the Second Amendment.

Newt Gingrich warns that if the GOP doesn’t shift gears before the midterms, we’d better get used to the idea of once again having Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

How concerned are you about the possibility of a Democratic takeover of Congress this year? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

I see many potential pitfalls ahead for Republicans – from bailing out Obamacare and caving in to the overwrought gun control zealots to spending like Democrats.

So how about one more question on this topic – what do you think is the BIGGEST mistake Republicans can make as the try to keep control of the U.S. House? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Finally this week, the conviction of Andrew Cuomo’s right-hand-man, Joseph Percoco, is yet another stain on Albany and the corrupt Cuomo Administration, and even after this bit of justice we’re left with more questions than answers – but don’t expect any answers from Cuomo.

Have a great weekend!

Daily Update

Today’s  NY Post Editorial opines on the  shameful decision to parole Herman Bell.  Chairman Mike Long is calling on Governor Cuomo to rescind the order immediately.  Read his press release here.

In the Metro section of the NY Post, this article explains how cold-blooded killer Herman Bell was granted parole.  This cold-blooded calculating killer told the members exactly what they wanted to hear; and they fell for his deceitful words.

A betrayal to her, every policeman and every New Yorker.

Governor Andrew Cuomo must reverse this decision immediately.  He must stand up for what is right, he must make this right.

Long to Cuomo: Rescind Parole Board Decision Immediately!

Brooklyn, NY – State Conservative Party Chairman, Michael R. Long demands that Governor Andrew Cuomo rescind the Parole Board’s recommendation to release cop killer Herman Bell.

Herman Bell, wantonly and deliberately lured Officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones to their death.

Herman Bell, up until this parole hearing, claimed to be a “political prisoner” due to his Black Liberation Army ties. Up until now, Herman Bell had absolutely no remorse for killing two police officers. In fact, after his 6th denial of parole, he sued for his freedom — because he was a changed man who played the flute.

He played the parole board like a flute – telling them exactly what they wanted to hear.

Governor Cuomo – Herman Bell is a cold-blooded killer who is playing the system to gain freedom.

I call on you to rescind the decision of your parole board and require Herman Bell to remain in prison until his natural death.

Brooklyn, NY – Conservative Party Chairman, Michael R. Long, commended the 2018-19 Senate Budget Resolution as a commitment to the citizens of New York by keeping New York more affordable for the people who live here and in line with the values that have made New York the Empire State.

It is unfortunate that the progressive wing of the New York Assembly continues to recklessly spend money while ensuring the values that make New York the Empire State are whittled into a government subsidized nanny state.

The GOP Senate budget resolution can be reviewed here.

Daily Update

The news of the day is Governor Andrew Cuomo’s close confidant, Joseph Percoco, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, and solicitation of bribes and gratuities in connection with a low-show job given to his wife by an energy company with a downstate power plant interest before the Cuomo administration — three felonies.  He was also acquitted of three felony counts.  Governor Cuomo – obviously you cannot end corruption in Albany…when you never recognized it when it was right in front of you, or even worse, you ignored it and allowed corruption to flourish.  Fredrick U. Weekly Wrap-Up

The big news this week is that President Trump is planning to hold talks with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Here is what that says about the White House’s North Korean strategy.

As Fox News explains, “President Trump’s tough rhetoric has led Kim to conclude that the use of force by the U.S. really is on the table and that the Trump administration can’t be played for fools, like prior American administrations.”

Indeed, if it were President Obama or President Hillary Clinton leading these talks, I would be concerned. But for a variety of reasons, I think President Trump can make it work. What is it that makes you think President Trump can be trusted to lead these talks with North Korea?

That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

(President Hillary Clinton – I’m so glad I only have to use those words hypothetically!)

Nationally, the Trump economy continues to boom, exceeding expectations for job growth

Seeing all this economic growth and freedom, the Democrats naturally want to raise taxes.

And it’s shocking how much of our tax dollars help fund abortion – $1.5 billion over just three years, according to a new report

How do you think this money could have been better spent? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

Speaking of tax-and-spend liberals, it’s business-as-usual in Bill de Blasio’s New York City, and as Nicole Malliotakis points out hard-working taxpayers are shouldering the burden of the liberals’ tax-and-spend ways.

The gun debate remained in the news this week, and it’s become clear that media elites and liberals don’t know and don’t care about the specifics of gun ownership – but as Barack Obama reminds us, the left doesn’t let facts get in the way of trying to abolish the Second Amendment. And of course, when liberals in our neighboring state Connecticut dismiss NRA supporters as terrorists, it’s clear that an honest debate isn’t really what the left is after.

What do you think is the worst lie or misinformation that liberals trot out in the gun debate? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

Daily Update

The NY Post editorial board opines on Mayor de Blasio’s whine.

“New York’s public-sector unions are eager to lock in members who might flee if an expected US Supreme Court ruling gives them the right to escape. And state Senate Republicans may play along.”  This quote is from another editorial in the NY Post today, encouraging  Senate Republicans to reject  the scheme to trap workers in public sector unions.  The Conservative Party agrees that the Alcantara Bill must not be enacted.

When will legislators stop wasting time introducing “Nanny State” legislation?  I sometimes think they purposely try to dumb down the electorate just to stay in elective office.

Really Governor?  You flatter yourself.  Cuomo fears Russian interference in governor’s race

Citizens of our great nation have a unique privilege in choosing who their government officials are, a responsibility, in fact, to vote.  Early voting is not the answer to get more citizens to vote; in fact, early voting can lead to fraud, not knowing all of the facts about candidates and increased costs.  This CNY election boss thinks our lifestyle in the 21st century makes voting a “burden” and thinks there should be 12 days set aside for early voting.  He is wrong and refuses to look at the facts that disprove his theory.
