Statement from Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar on Additional 12,000 New York Covid Deaths
August 25, 2021
“Governor Kathy Hochul’s admission that 12,000 more New Yorkers have perished from Covid-19 than previously reported — bringing the current grim tally to more than 55,000 — begs the question: Why is she only telling us now?
“Governor Hochul served as New York’s Lt. Governor from 2015 until yesterday, and, as the state’s second in command, she clearly had to know — or should have known — the true Covid death toll in the state. So why did she stay silent as Governor Cuomo hid these numbers? Did her pledge to be transparent begin only yesterday?”
Statement from Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar
August 24, 2021
“The New York State Conservative Party congratulates Gov. Kathy Hochul on her swearing-in today. We wish her well as New York’s 57th governor, even as we represent a sharply divergent political viewpoint.
“We were struck, however, by the Governor’s response to a reporter’s question this morning asking Mrs. Hochul to identify the thing she most hopes to accomplish in Albany. “I want people to believe in government again,” she said, as though she had nothing to do with the corrupt administration that lost the faith of New Yorkers.
“Not for nothing, as we say in Brooklyn, but Governor Hochul has been Andrew Cuomo’s chief lieutenant in Albany since 2015. To suggest that she is in no part responsible for that loss of faith is disingenuous in the extreme.
“Governor Hochul may have been better served by admitting her own culpability in the corruption that went on in Albany these past six years and asking New Yorkers for forgiveness. Or is that too much for us to expect?”
As a person who loves and respects America, it saddens me to link to this article. I did not vote for Joe Biden, we disagree on most policy issues almost all the time, yet, seeing this headline, grieves me. Today’s world that has seen far too much terrorism and the debacle happening in Afghanistan now, tells our enemies that we are weak. Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal shows a disengaged, befuddled president. We did not become the beacon of freedom because we had a president so disengaged from his own appointees that he overrides their advice. Americans must come together and save our nation from the possibility of another catastrophic September 11th attack on our land or any other place. Graham Allen lays it out well in his accurate and excellent August 21 Op-Ed in the NY Post: Our polarized country needs to rebuild the unity we felt on Sept. 12, 2001 for if we don’t, America will collapse from within.
The withdrawal became a retreat, the retreat became a rout, the rout became a defeat. The Biden Administration either had no plan, or a horribly bad plan, to withdraw our troops, allies and citizens from Afghanistan.
Joe Biden has now, more than ever, proven he is a first-class foreign relations disaster as President. As the Taliban overthrew a government and gained control of Afghanistan, Joe Biden was no where to be found. He spent the first 72 hours in hiding as mid-level press flacks addressed the nation on the biggest international news story in a decade.
When Biden did speak, he said he had “no regrets” on any of the decisions he made. Chilling words from a President of the United States which still has thousands of its citizens trapped in Afghanistan and a State Department informing them they cannot ensure safe passage to Karzai International airport.
Senior military and State Department officials have claimed they advised President Biden that imminent danger for American citizens and the Afghanistan people was ahead, but he ignored the intel. He ignored his Joint Chiefs, his Generals and his top Middle East experts.
It should not be forgotten that while American lives are at stake, Joe Biden blamed Donald Trump who is now a private citizen living in Florida.
Joe Biden owns this disaster. No one else.
Inflation
A little inflation is healthy. It greases the economic engine and leads to growth. Enter Joe Biden and the inflation we have been experiencing at an unhealthy level and getting worse by the day.
According to AAA the national gas price sits at an average of $3.17. Here in New York, the average gallon of gas is $3.22 and in California it sits at a shocking $4.40.
The cost of living doesn’t end there. We have seen it at the supermarket and soon we will see it at our banks in the form of mortgages and other types of loans.
As inflation far exceeds wage gains, economists warn we are sitting on an inflation time bomb.
U.S. wages grew at a 4% year-over-year pace in July, but trailed the 5.4% annual increase in inflation suggesting that while nominal wages are rising, real wages are falling. This does nothing but leave working families in the dust.
“Call it the ‘Biden pay cut,’” said Alfredo Ortiz, CEO of the Job Creators Network, a conservative U.S. advocacy group. “Rapid inflation and declining real wages are the direct result of the Biden administration’s historic spending that is overheating the economy and creating disincentives to work.”
Assembly Does About Face
As a result of an outcry from the GOP members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, Assembly Democrats will not get away with sweeping their investigation of Andrew Cuomo under the rug.
It is believed that Governor Cuomo wanted protection from impeachment if he agreed to resign. The Democrats were happy to oblige but quitting his day job as Governor doesn’t erase his criminal and civil liabilities.
The investigation will now be completed, and a report issued. This will go a long way to ensuring that Andrew Cuomo is held accountable for his actions. No one is above the law.
Resigning simply took him off the taxpayer payroll. Justice will only come about through a full airing of the many wrongs he and his senior staff made over the years.
It is shameful that the Democratic Assembly attempted to do him one last favor.
There was a time when Harvard was the platinum standard of Ivy League colleges, now one must question why anyone would want to go to Harvard! And question why alumni continue to support a college that is out of sync with the majority of society.
Stunning, shameful admission. Secretary of Defense: ‘I Don’t Have the Capability’ to Escort Stranded Americans to Kabul Airport. Only topped by this disgraceful admission by the Biden Administration. If Joe Biden had been president during World War II, America and her allies would not have had the fortitude to defeat her enemies. Pray that America can withstand the onslaught of our enemies for the next 1251 days. Walt Kelly (“Pogo’s” creator) paraphrased Oliver Hazard Perry’s words to General William Henry Harrison: “We have met the enemy, and they are ours” with “We have met the enemy and it is us.” Unfortunately, these words are an accurate assessment of today’s turmoil caused by our own Commander-in-Chief.

Statement from Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar on The Fall of Afghanistan
August 16, 2021
“Words can’t capture the images coming out of Kabul. President Joe Biden’s planned withdrawal turned into a panicked rout, and now, once again, as in Vietnam, we are seeing desperate U.S. allies hanging from departing airplanes. These are scenes that will live in infamy.
“The abject planning failure of the Biden Administration will be studied and discussed for decades to come, but for now we must focus on getting U.S. allies out of Afghanistan safely and in the most orderly fashion possible.
“The American public needs to hear from their President now about how he plans to accomplish this.”
On Tuesday Andrew Cuomo gave one of the most disingenuous resignation speeches in human memory, but at least he resigned.
We trust that his stepping down will do nothing to slow the myriad investigations into his misbehaviors, including covering up nursing home death data; profiting $5.1 million from his obfuscation of those deaths; using state-paid employees to write his tome, and allegations of both physical and verbal sexual abuse of at least 11 women.
Mr. Cuomo’s behavior has shown the need for far greater transparency in New York State government, and so many questions for him still need to be answered.
We continue to call on the Assembly to proceed with impeachment proceedings, along with the Albany County Sheriff Department’s investigation into the criminal complaints levied against Governor Cuomo. He must be held accountable for his actions.
Incoming Governor Kathy Hochul
The Conservative Party wishes incoming Governor Kathleen Hochul well in her transition to New York’s top executive office. New York has faced much adversity over the last 18 months, and it is time for leaders to put the needs of the entire state over themselves.
However, we will continue holding her to account for allowing Mr. Cuomo’s gross, well-known behavior to go on for the past seven years she served as his Lt. Governor. Often times, the Lt. Governor verbalized how proud she was to work alongside Governor Cuomo. With the information we now have, it is unlikely that she and her staff could have been so blind to the many misdeeds occurring in the Cuomo administration.
We cannot afford another clubhouse politician as New York’s Chief Executive. We need and deserve transparency from a Governor the public can respect and puts constituents first.
Cayuga County Conservative Party
The Cayuga County Conservative Party held their annual clambake honoring long time party leader Greg Rigby. The event was a great success, and I was beyond pleased to see the Cayuga organization functioning so well.
I want to congratulate Chairman David Pappert and his committee on a great afternoon. The more than 200 people in attendance was a clear indicator of the good work he and his committee are doing.
Greg Rigby and his wife have re-located to South Carolina and we wish them nothing but the best. Greg has been a dear friend and leader within the Conservative Party holding positions as both Cayuga County Chairman and State Party Vice Chairman. He will be greatly missed here in New York State.
Governor Cuomo’s resignation must not be the end of the impeachment process nor the other investigations that are ongoing. His resignation announcement was pathetic; a disservice to all New Yorkers and to put it bluntly a crock of manure. New Yorkers must not accept his resignation as enough penance for all that he has done to undermine quality of life for all New Yorkersand especially those who had the fortitude to come forward.
Read this article before you believe that the incoming governor will solve New York’s problems. Did she write her own press releases, or did the current governor’s machine write and issue for her? Either way it is a problem for her. For years, Kathy Hochul praised creepy Andrew Cuomo as a protector of women. What is telling in this article is the last sentence, “Reps for Hochul did not immediately respond to requests for comment.”
“… talk about a presidential term-limits amendment started in 1944 when Republican candidate Thomas Dewey said a potential 16-year term for Roosevelt was a threat to democracy. In a speech in Buffalo on October 31, 1944, Dewey said, “four terms or sixteen years is the most dangerous threat to our freedom ever proposed. That is one reason why I believe that two terms must be established as the limit by constitutional amendment.” The 22nd Constitutional Amendment was introduced March 24, 1947 and became law on February 27, 1951.
Charles Ellis Schumer was born November 23, 1950, graduated as valedictorian, went on to Harvard and Harvard Law School and earned his law degree in 1974, passed the bar in 1975 but never practiced law. He was first elected in 1974 and has held elected office since then. His only job outside of being an elected official was during high school. (New York Senator Chuck Schumer actually worked for Kaplan – his first job – spinning off test prep materials on the mimeograph machine.) Sen. Schumer’s father owned a small exterminating business that young Schumer thought was a huge albatross around his neck. Obviously, it was hard work, long days, little time off as anyone who owns their own business knows. That and his only job apparently soured the soon to be US Senator on being his own entrepreneur, like Bill Gates, Peter Theil, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and the countless others that have created businesses providing jobs for others. Senator Charles Schumer never had to meet a payroll, pay for health insurance, create an atmosphere that supported what made the greatest nation in the world; he chose to be an elected official and tell us how we must use our hard earned paychecks…every day since 1974!
If ever there was a person that personified the need for term limits it is the current Majority Leader of the US Senate.
“Two more women approached the state Attorney General’s Office with allegations against Gov. Andrew Cuomo after Attorney General Letitia James released her sexual harassment report against him last week,” reported the evening edition’s NY Post of August 9. 2021.
The 18 RINO’s (or GOP surrender monkeys, as Mr. Moore calls them) who voted to invoke cloture (and move the bill through the Senate) are listed here in Stephen Moore’s Committee to Unleash Prosperity. His essays always have very useful information; you can sign up at the bottom of the column.
Dem Budget Includes Green Card Giveaway, Mass Amnesty. “The new budget proposal from Senate Democrats will dramatically increase the number of available green cards and include amnesty for illegal immigrants, according to an official fact sheet on the $3.5 trillion budget circulated by leadership.”
