The Alliance for Quality Education has lost all credibility trying to convince people of its purported cause of raising the quality of education of our children by shamefully trying to debase an honest attempt to keep the quality of our teachers at the highest standards.

According to The Wall Street Journal, “Federal prosecutors are examining whether New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo or his staff directed an anticorruption commission to not refer cases to district attorneys for prosecution, according to people familiar with the matter.”

Staten Island DA Dan Donovan has prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, including cases against police officers, without fear or favor and has the highest conviction rate of the City's five District Attorney's.  There is no reason to hand the Garner case to the feds.

Michael Goodwin writes in today's column that the results of yesterday's Marist Poll should inspire people to pay attention.  We could not agree more.  Electing people to office must be more than responding to radio and TV ads,-- which for the most part -- are self-serving or negative ads to "poison the well".
