The evening will feature our statewide ticket, including Bruce Blakeman for Governor, Saritha Komatereddy for Attorney General, and Joseph Hernandez for Comptroller. We will also be honoring Long Island Patriot Radio with the Ronald Reagan Journalism Award. We have a very special guest speaker who will be announced soon, so stay tuned for that announcement. New York: The Vampire State
A new report from the Citizens Budget Commission once again put New York’s tax burden and government spending in the national spotlight. The report found that New York State and its local governments collected more taxes per person than any other state in 2024, 71% more than the national average. New York also ranked second nationally in per-capita government spending. (CBCNY)
The findings are further proof that New York’s policies are forcing residents to flee. As State Conservative Party Chairman, I said, “NY is the vampire state. Vampires suck blood. New York politicians suck money out of your pocket and don’t think twice about it.”
The high taxes are one of the reasons New Yorkers leave the state. We continue to see New Yorkers move elsewhere, and the State Comptroller’s latest data shows that New York experienced a net out-migration of 13,662 tax filers in 2024. (Office of the State Comptroller)
New Yorkers are paying more and more, while families, businesses, and retirees continue to look for more affordable places to live. This report should be a wake-up call for Albany. We cannot continue down this path.

Mark Benjamin is running for New York State Assembly in the 131st Assembly District, seeking to bring a conservative, common-sense voice to Albany. A longtime Seneca County resident, husband, father, small business owner, coach, and community volunteer, Benjamin has spent years serving the region.
The 131st Assembly District covers portions of Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Broome, and Chenango Counties.
Benjamin is focused on lowering costs for families, supporting small businesses, and making sure Upstate and rural communities have a strong voice in Albany.
Our 2026 Conservative Party lawn signs are now available! We currently have signs available in Orange County for smaller quantity requests, and we will be sending another batch to the Albany Region over the next couple of days. If your county needs signs, please contact our Director of Operations at 845-522-1915 to coordinate quantities and pickup. We’ll continue getting signs and materials out to our county organizations across New York as we head toward Election Day.
