Statement from New York State Conservative Party Chairman
Gerard Kassar on 2025 Election Results
“New York Democrats made a major error electing
Zohran Mamdani. They now own him, and socialism itself.”
“New York conservatives looking to affect the New York City mayoral race found themselves in an impossible situation last night. With the Republican candidate in single digits, they could either support, as a practical matter, a former Democratic governor who told political conservatives they’re no longer welcome in New York State, or an Israel-hating, 33-year-old, anti-cop socialist hipster who’s never had a real job.
“New Yorkers chose the latter. It doesn’t get much worse.
“That doesn’t mean Conservatives didn’t have successes throughout New York State last night. We did. In many counties, towns, and villages Conservative Party members won election on the Conservative Party line, or the party was the margin of victory in their elections.
“But what happened in the five boroughs should ring alarm bells in every corner of the state. Well-organized Democratic Socialists are on the rise in New York, and in other liberal cities across the U.S., and the Conservative Party will be at the forefront of exposing them for what they are: street hustlers seeking power. We are the defenders of shared wisdom and common sense in this state, and both tell us that tough times are ahead under these new radicalized Democrats.
“Fortunately, Governor Kathy Hochul — who has embraced the avowed Marxian coming to City Hall — will be called to account in the year ahead. The leftward march of her party in New York will end in 2026. New York Democrats made a major error electing Zohran Mamdani. They now own him, and socialism itself.”
