Statement from New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar
Schumer’s, Jeffries’ Attempt To Dodge Blame For Government Shutdown ‘As Laughable as it is Cynical.’ – Kassar
“Today, as the federal government grinds to a halt, let’s be clear about one thing: this shutdown is squarely on the shoulders of Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Hakeem Jeffries. Time and again, they’ve chosen to do what’s politically convenient for themselves rather than what’s right for the American people. That’s just the plain truth.
“In an effort to expand the federal government even more and to appease democrat socialists who want to see him gone, Senator Schumer eschewed a largely clean Republican resolution that would have kept the government open. Instead, Mr. Schumer chose to unleash chaos on the federal workforce and the public in a desperate attempt to then place blame on President Trump and the GOP. It’s as laughable as it is cynical.
“The American public knows exactly who’s responsible for this shutdown, and it’s not a mystery. Messrs. Schumer and Jeffries have failed to be good public servants here, and it’s time to call that out. They’re playing a game, and hardworking Americans are paying the price.”
