Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 9/12/25

We Will Remember Charlie Kirk

I write this with a heavy heart. Charlie Kirk’s tragic assassination has left our movement with an irreplaceable loss. The killer has been caught and justice will be pursued,  but no verdict can restore the man who inspired so many. Charlie spoke to young people like no one else: direct, hopeful, and unapologetically proud of American ideals. He leaves behind a grieving family and beautiful daughters for whom I will keep in my thoughts. All he ever did was engage in good-faith, open debate, the pillar of our democracy, and yet a 22-year-old answered disagreement with murder. We will not let that silence us. We will honor Charlie by carrying forward his work, encouraging youth, defending free speech, and standing boldly for the principles he championed. Rest in Peace, Charlie.

9/11

As this week couldn’t get any harder for Conservatives, yesterday was 9/11. I will never forget because barely a day goes by when I do not remember. For a certain generation, it is our Pearl Harbor or Kennedy assassination. We will always know where we were and what we were doing when the first airplane hit the Twin Towers, the field in Pennsylvania, or the Pentagon.

The world would never be the same. We knew it then, but at the time found it difficult to comprehend.

I live in the 11228 zip code in Brooklyn, a downtown Manhattan commuter zip code like other parts of southern Brooklyn and most of Staten Island. Many worked in the financial district of Manhattan, including the World Trade Center. Police and firefighters were our neighbors. My Catholic church, Saint Ephrem’s, lost nine parishioners. My high school, Xaverian, saw 23 alumni perish. Many more have died since from 9/11-related illnesses.

I knew many of the deceased and continue to stay in touch with the families. Countless blocks in Brooklyn and all over the city are marked with the names of those lost, with “9/11 Memorial Way” imprinted underneath. We do not forget. So let us remember. Read my full statement here.

Save the Date — Conservative Party Reception

Please mark your calendars for October 23, 2025, at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. We are honored to present Joe Piscopo with our Ronald Reagan Award for a remarkable career in entertainment and conservative commentary. From his memorable years on Saturday Night Live to his work as an actor, singer, and a nationally recognized conservative radio voice in the New York area, Joe has been a consistent force for our values. More details will be released soon, but for now, save the date and plan to join us for a great evening!

National Affairs Platform

A reminder that the Party’s National Affairs Platform is posted on our website for anyone who wants to read our principles and policy priorities. This platform is the foundation upon which we build arguments, recruit new supporters, and hold leaders accountable. I encourage every member and friend to read it closely, share it in your networks, and use it as the basis for conversations. Know what we stand for,  then go out and defend it! You can read the platform here.

Patriots Podium Special with Senator Mark Walczyk

We’re bringing back Patriots Podium for a special episode featuring State Senator Mark Walczyk, who represents Fulton, Jefferson, Lewis, Herkimer, Oswego, and St. Lawrence Counties. In this episode, Senator Mark Walczyk and I talk about the challenges facing New York State, from skyrocketing energy costs and the failures of the state’s energy planning, to illegal border crossings in the North Country, to the ongoing election law battles in Albany. We also touched on his military service, how it shaped him as a legislator, and his perspective on Governor Hochul’s time in office. It was a thoughtful conversation that shed light on the issues impacting everyday New Yorkers. Give it a listen below on any of the links! YouTube BuzzSprout Apple Music Spotify
