Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day

This Labor Day weekend, I want to take a moment on behalf of the New York State Conservative Party to recognize and honor the hardworking men and women who make our state and our nation strong. Labor Day is more than just the unofficial end of summer; it is a time to celebrate the dignity of work and the contributions of every New Yorker who gets up each day to provide for their family.

From our first responders and health care workers, to small business owners, farmers, teachers, tradesmen, assembly line workers and those who keep our infrastructure running, the value of their work cannot be overstated. These are the men and women who embody the spirit of perseverance, determination, and responsibility that has always defined the American worker. Their efforts deserve not only recognition, but policies that respect and reward their labor. Thankfully, we have a President that understands this. Our U.S. Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, has been doing a remarkable job so far, and it shows in the American jobs gained every month. I especially like the support and recognition the tradesmen are getting from the administration. While college is still a great option for many careers, encouraging young men and women to learn a high paying trade will pay dividends in the future. Plus, one wouldn’t have student loans, or have to worry about not finding a job after graduation!

The Conservative Party has always stood proudly with working families. We believe that every New Yorker who puts in an honest day’s work should be able to build a life of stability, security, and opportunity. Unfortunately, Albany politicians too often undermine these values by piling on higher taxes, pushing costly mandates, and ignoring the struggles of families trying to make ends meet. The Conservative Party is here to hold them accountable, and restore respect for the men and women whose hard work keeps New York moving. I wish you and your family a safe, meaningful, and blessed Labor Day.
