Democrats call for Rikers closure

Four members of the New York Congressional delegation demanded the immediate release of inmates and the permanent closure of New York City’s Rikers Island jail in a move that even Bill de Blasio found asinine.

Democratic Socialists Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jerry Nadler, Jamaal Bowman and Nydia Velázquez called conditions at the jail “deplorable and nothing short of a humanitarian crisis,” in a letter penned to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday.

Amid a rise in crime, almost across the board since 2020, New York City democrats believe the best course of action is to release criminals back into the streets. This new demand is amongst the most incomprehensible thing to ever come out of the mouth of these four members of Congress, and that is saying something.

Democrats will not rest until they have turned New York into a failed state. Voters should take notice of who wishes harm upon them and their loved ones.

Southern Border Worsens

The Biden Administration’s failure to control the influx of illegal immigrants, not only from South American countries, but even Haiti constitutes a real crisis not only for America but also for the men, women, and children attempting to illegally gain entry.

President Biden inherited a secure border with a plan from President Trump and in 8 short months has turned it into one of the biggest humanitarian crises our country has seen in decades.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki insists the borders aren’t open, and it’s a shame she and the White House continue to outright lie to fellow Americans.

Adding insult to injury, these migrants are only being tested for COVID-19 if they show symptoms; certainly, a leading cause of expanding cases throughout the United States.

The Biden Administration has no plan, except to under report or flat out lie regarding the dire situation at our Southern Border which is turning into more of an evasion as the days go by.

 Mandate for Healthcare Workers Receives Pushback

Hospitals and nursing homes in New York are facing the possibility that a statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health workers could lead to staff shortages when it takes effect Monday.

On Wednesday, Governor Hochul was met by protestors who pushed back on the vaccine mandate for health care workers who were yesterday’s heroes, but are today’s villains.

Not every health care worker interacts with patients every day, or in many cases ever. This mandate is another form of control forced upon us by a tyrannical government who won’t rest until they control every aspect of our lives.

Every day I am thankful for our health care workers, as we all should be. While I am fully vaccinated and a supporter of the vaccination, I support individual freedoms and rights above mandates.
