There used to be an advertisement by Virginia Slims (it would be verboten today) that said “you’ve come a long way, baby” glorifying the women’s movement of the 1970’s.  Can we still say “you’ve come a long way, baby” when the Governor of Texas has to sign legislation declaring children’s lemonade stands legal?
