We’re just days away from the New York State Conservative Party’s 2025 Welcome to Summer Dinner. The event is coming together quite nicely, and we are excited to announce our featured speaker over the weekend. I think you all will be very happy when you hear the announcement.
The evening will center on honoring Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Chairwoman of the House Republican Conference and a close friend of the late Chairman Mike Long, with the 3rd Annual Michael R. Long Award. Mike would be proud to see Elise recognized for her bold leadership, conservative values, and tireless service to New York and the nation.
The event will take place at the historic Union League Club in New York City on Wednesday, June 18th, and will bring together conservative activists, elected officials, Party leaders, members of our NY Congressional delegation, and officials from the Trump Administration. During the June 12th House Oversight Committee hearing, the New York State Conservative Party’s endorsed members of Congress, Elise Stefanik, Nick Langworthy, and Mike Lawler, made it undeniably clear that Governor Kathy Hochul’s far-left sanctuary state policies are putting New Yorkers in danger. Here are some highlights:
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik did not hold back on Hochul’s refusal to take responsibility for the tragic consequences of her sanctuary policies. Stefanik grilled Hochul over the case of Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, who burned a woman alive on a New York City subway, and called out Hochul’s ignorance when she claimed not to recognize the name. “Burning people alive — that’s Kathy Hochul’s New York,” Stefanik declared, adding that “we deserve a governor who stands up for law-abiding New Yorkers, who doesn’t put illegals first.” The Conservative Party looks forward to hearing about it from Elise June 18th.
Congressman Nick Langworthy, the only New Yorker with a seat on the Oversight Committee, went after Hochul on bail reform. He called out her policies being responsible for the murder of Laken Riley, whose killer had previously been arrested in New York but was released thanks to New York’s soft-on-crime agenda. Langworthy said, “Your bail reform law is the reason that Laken Riley is dead.”
Congressman Mike Lawler pressed Hochul on her position regarding the radical “New York For All Act”. A bill that bans local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE. Hochul refused to give a straight answer. “New York is better off with you down here and not in the state,” is certainly how many New Yorkers feel after years of failed policies and rising crime.
At a time when New York families are paying the price for progressive policies that put criminals first and public safety last, it was refreshing to see our endorsed leaders put it on the Congressional record.
Father’s Day
Sunday, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures of the world who go above and beyond for their families. Being a father is no easy task, yet at the same time, it is so fulfilling. Even if you do not have children, everyone has been positively affected by a father figure in some way. Most people have their favorite father stories, traditions, or dad jokes that never get old.
Fathers lead by example, being a pillar of guidance or simply being a steady presence; no matter your role, being a father is irreplaceable. Thank you for the sacrifices you make and the values you pass down. New York and America are stronger because of you. Have a blessed and meaningful Father’s Day!
