Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 5/30/25

Welcome to Summer Dinner

Please join us on Wednesday, June 18th for the New York State Conservative Party’s 2025 Welcome to Summer Dinner, held at the beautiful and historic Union League Club in New York City. This year, we are proud to honor Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, Chairwoman of House Republican Leadership and a close friend of the late Chairman Mike Long, with the 3rd Annual Michael R. Long Award. Mike would be proud to see Elise recognized for her principled leadership and tireless service. Conservative activists, elected officials, Party leaders, our NY Congressional members, and members of the Trump administration will be in attendance for what promises to be a memorable evening. A special VIP event will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by our official reception at 6:00 PM and dinner at 7:00 PM. Get your tickets here:

Stop Physician-Assisted Suicide

Several weeks ago, the New York State Assembly narrowly passed A136 (Rosenthal), a bill legalizing physician-assisted suicide. The Conservative Party, alongside our coalition partners, strongly advocated against its passage and welcomed bipartisan opposition, including all three Conservative Party-endorsed Democrats, who stood firmly with all Conservative Party-endorsed Republicans.

Now, our focus shifts to the Democrat-controlled State Senate, where the bill has not yet come out of Committee. A number of Democratic senators have voiced opposition, and with near-unanimous Republican resistance, there is still a chance to stop this dangerous legislation.

However, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins has made it clear: if she counts 32 Democratic votes in support, she will move the bill forward. That’s why your voice is needed now more than ever.

Take Action Today: Contact Your State Senator

We urge you to immediately call or email your State Senator to express your strong opposition to Assisted suicide. Every message matters. To find your senator’s contact information, visit the NYS Senate website or call the Senate switchboard at (518)-474-2418 and ask to be put through to your member.

Andrew Cuomo Investigation

Kudos to President Trump and his administration for taking action against the disgraced Andrew Cuomo. For far too long, Cuomo dodged accountability for his disastrous COVID policies. Most notably, his heartless decision to force COVID-positive patients into nursing homes, leading to the deaths of thousands of vulnerable seniors. His lies to Congress and cover-up efforts were nothing short of criminal. It’s about time justice is served. There are families still grieving over his failures, and to watch him run for Mayor without any accountability was a gut punch to many. Thank you to AG Pam Bondi and the Trump DOJ for standing up for the truth and the victims of Cuomo’s deadly incompetence.
