Governor Kathy Hochul has now completed one of the most cynical metamorphoses in New York political history, and it deserves to be recounted in full.
As Erie County Clerk, she threatened to call the police on illegal immigrants who showed up seeking driver’s licenses. As a congresswoman from Western New York, she carried an A-rating from the NRA and sold herself to her neighbors as a sensible moderate. When Andrew Cuomo needed regional balance, she became his loyal understudy — seven years of dutiful silence while Albany rotted around her. And now, as governor, she has genuflected before socialist New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The clerk who defied Eliot Spitzer now presides over sanctuary policies. The NRA’s congresswoman now lectures New Yorkers about firearms. Cuomo’s silent partner now poses as a reformer. And the self-described moderate now shares a ticket, a stage, and an agenda with the most radical mayor in America.
This is not pragmatism; its adriftness. Ms. Hochul has never stood for anything but Ms. Hochul. New Yorkers deserve a governor who puts principles over politics. This November, they can choose one.
Cayuga and Onondaga County
I had a great time on the road this week, including attending the very successful Cayuga County Clam Bake. It was a terrific opportunity to spend time with Conservative Party leaders, candidates, and activists who are working hard to build our Party and elect principled conservatives across New York. Shout out to Chairman David Pappert for the great event! Looking forward to next year already.
I also had the pleasure of joining Monroe County Chairman Don Mazzullo and his wife, Theresa, for a reception they hosted for the Monroe County Conservative Party Executive Committee. I want to thank them for their hospitality and for their continued commitment to strengthening the Conservative Party in Monroe County. Events like these are a reminder of the dedicated people working behind the scenes to keep our party strong. Keep doing great work, Chairman!
Candidate Spotlight
I also want to highlight two candidates who are carrying the Conservative line in competitive State Senate races. Whats great about these two candidates is they are not career politicians, rather someone like us that is fed up and fighting for change. To start, Richard McCarron Jr., who is running in the 48th Senate District and is on the Republican and Conservative lines. This district consists of parts of Onondaga County and Cayuga County. He was a lifelong police officer for Onondaga County, running on common sense, family values, and safety.
Next, James Corl, who is a great, young, and energetic Conservative that you can find on the Conservative/Rep line for the 50th Senate District. His District is right next to Richard’s, but encompasses Northern Onondaga (Clay, Cicero, Camilus, etc.) and Oswego County. These are exactly the kinds of races where the Conservative vote can make the difference, and I encourage everyone to learn more about both candidates and support their campaigns.
