Weekly Wrap Up 5/29/26 NYS Budget, Bronx Candidates Head to Albany

NYS BUDGET IS A NATIONAL EMBARRASSMENT

The other day I issued the following statement on the finally completed FY 2027 state budget:

Every one of Governor Hochul’s budgets has been a disgrace, but this year’s takes the prize for the most counterproductive in memory. It raises taxes and costs in a state that can afford neither; it will continue to chase families and good paying jobs out of state, and it adds to a growing state deficit that everyone could see coming. The bottom line is that Governor Hochul has become a tool of the Mamdani socialists who will drive New York directly into the ground with over spending and government expansion.

Every time you think Gov. Hochul can’t make things worse for a state in clear decline, she and the socialists find a way.

This state is in a slow-motion fiscal collapse, and this year’s budget should remind voters that things will continue to get worse until we get a common sense fiscal conservative in the name of Bruce Blakeman in the Executive Chamber. Remember, voting Conservative is our only way out of this insanity. The socialists will lose in November.

Successful Summer Dinner Honoring Lee Zeldin

Our Summer Dinner last week was a tremendous success as we proudly honored Lee Zeldin with the Mike Long Award in recognition of his years of dedicated service to the conservative movement. We extend our sincere thanks to all of the dignitaries, county chairs, committee members, candidates, and supporters who joined us for this special evening. We were honored to hear from an outstanding lineup of speakers, including Leader Ed Ra, Senator Lester Chang representing Leader Rob Ortt, Joseph Hernandez, our candidate for Comptroller, Saritha Komatireddy, candidate for Attorney General, and, of course, Lee Zeldin, who truly knocked it out of the park with his remarks. With more than 170 dedicated supporters gathered in one room, the energy and enthusiasm for the busy summer campaign season ahead were undeniable.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable success. You can view all the photos here: NYSCP_052126_Lee Zeldin

Bronx Conservatives Head to Albany

This past Thursday, our Director of Operations, Andrew Davis traveled to Albany alongside Bronx County Conservative Party Chairman Pat McManus and our Bronx ticket. Joining them were five outstanding candidates from the Bronx — Adrian Romero (SD-34), Grace Marrero (SD-36), Shery Olivo (AD-86), Tyreek Goodman (AD-84), and Emmanuel Findlay (AD-79). As well as 10 other community leaders and supporters who made the trip to show their support.

The press conference focused on the importance of unity within the Conservative and Republican parties, as well as strengthening partnerships with the communities we serve. Attendees came together in opposition to the policies of Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani that have undoubtedly crippled our city and State. Following the press conference, the group toured the State Capitol and met with Assembly Minority Leader Ed Ra and representatives from the Senate Republican Conference. Each candidate had the opportunity to share their personal story and discuss why they are committed to fighting for and serving their communities.
