Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 7/18/25

Onondaga County

I had a fantastic trip traveling though Syracuse and the Finger Lakes region, where I met with like-minded conservatives who are ready for victory in November. I enjoyed getting together with Ontario County Chairman, Mario Fratto, and Monroe County Chairman Don Mazzullo in Farmington. Mario, a new Chairman, promises to be an active voice for conservative values and party interests. We wish him success, as well as the entirety of the Ontario County Conservative Party!

Another highlight of the trip was attending the Onondaga County Conservative Party’s event in East Syracuse. It was exciting to chat with energized conservatives from the region and hear directly from candidates such as Syracuse Mayoral candidate Tom Bibiloni, Treasurer Matt Beedell, Supervisors, Sheriffs, Legislators, and many more. A special thank you to Onondaga Chairwoman Varga for putting together such a wonderful evening. For anyone in these areas who would like to get involved with the Ontario County or Onondaga County Conservative Party, I strongly encourage you to reach out to our Chairmen there. You can contact the County Chair of either of those counties, or any other County Chairmen here. Keep up to date on meetings, events, and much more by visiting their Facebook page!

Zohran Mamdani’s Communist Agenda

A victory for Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race in November wouldn’t just be a local problem; it would propel a radical, communist agenda from coast to coast. This will not only affect NYC, but the entirety of New York will be negatively affected.  While he may charm some people with his theatrical background, Mamdani is nothing but a snake oil salesman who is peddling policies straight from the playbook of Karl Marx.

A socialist is a communist. It is that simple. His proposals to seize the means of production, like creating government-run grocery stores, are not progressive ideas, they are an attempt to imitate the policies of Castro, Lennon, Mao, etc.. Mamdani has no plans on hiding his intentions either. In meetings with city business leaders, he has been crystal clear with his plans. That he will push his radical beliefs with full force onto the people of New York and has no intention of walking back from them.

His record in the New York State Assembly reveals a legislator who is both dangerously radical and stunningly ineffective. In five years, he has only managed to pass four bills. His most significant achievement in the assembly was allowing alcohol to be served in a museum. The legislation he champions is alarming as well. He has sponsored bills that would restrict the number of miles that you can drive in your own car and mandate sexual education for children as young as kindergartners. This lack of seriousness raises some questions on his ability to lead the greatest city in the world. These are not priorities of a serious leader, they are the ideological experiments of a radical. A Mamdani win would be the greenlight for the most extreme parts of the Democratic party nationwide. The energy of his movement is a dangerous proposition for the entire country. The media may have failed to expose the true nature of his ideology, but his record is clear.

Medicaid Fraud in Hochul’s Own House

Governor Kathy Hochul’s scandal-plagued Medicaid program has gotten even more corrupt. Under her New York’s Medicaid program has become a textbook case of Albany cronyism and astonishing waste. In her latest of many scandals, Hochul’s administration has betrayed New York’s most vulnerable citizens by siphoning off cash from potentially thousands of participants of her Medicaid homecare program.

This isn’t just mismanagement, it’s a deliberate creation of another new scandal to cover up her countless old ones, all while the disabled and the elderly end up suffering the consequences of her actions. With a track record like this, is it a surprise that her administration fights any attempt at real transparency. When you are overseeing this much blatant waste and corruption, the last thing her administration would do is dedicate themselves to accountability. It’s clear Hochul is hiding even more major scandals, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
