As Chairman of the New York State Conservative Party, I recently sent a letter to the New York State Parole Board that I should have never had to write. Once again, the Board is considering the release of a convicted cop killer, and once again, the Party is speaking out to say: enough is enough.
This time, it’s David McClary, who in 1988 assassinated 22-year-old NYPD Officer Edward Byrne, shooting him five times in the head while he sat in a patrol car guarding a witness in a drug case. McClary should never see freedom again, yet the Parole Board is now preparing to consider releasing him. This isn’t an isolated case. Since 2017, this Parole Board has released 43 cop killers back into our communities. I called out their record clearly in the letter: “Your decisions aren’t only morally indefensible — they’re dangerous.” I also reminded them that if they can’t even draw the line when it comes to those who murder police officers in cold blood, they are unfit for office. There’s a real and growing sense among New Yorkers that justice is no longer being served, and we’re hearing it from families, law enforcement, and everyday citizens alike. The Conservative Party will continue to speak out, loudly and publicly, to demand justice for Officer Byrne and every fallen hero whose sacrifice deserves to be honored, not erased. Bravo, Mr. President!
President Trump has been doing tremendous work every single day and delivering real results on the issues the Conservative Party has championed for years. As soon as he was inaugurated, he signed an Executive order ending DEI programs, pardoning pro-life prisoners, and so much more. While some may express concern about whether these changes will last, these Executive Orders have now been codified through the Big Beautiful Bill. Thus, making them permanent and here to stay. We want to thank President Trump, Speaker Johnson, and our New York Congressional Delegation for their leadership in getting this done for the American people.
After four painful years of decline under Joe Biden and his autopen presidency, we now have a leader who governs with clarity, purpose, and results. Promises made, promises kept.
