Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 11/21/25

 2025 Legislative Ratings

If you missed it, the Conservative Party’s 2025 Legislative Session Ratings are officially out. An important benchmark I look forward to every year. These ratings give us an honest look at who in Albany is truly standing up for the values that matter most to New Yorkers: public safety, parental rights, property rights, energy policy grounded in reality, protection of life, constitutional freedoms, and so much more.

This year’s ratings were based on votes from 17 two-house bills, 3 Senate-only bills, and 3 Assembly-only bills. Legislation that covered issues ranging from Second Amendment protections to health-care policy to new judicial districts and even budget items that would significantly increase state spending and impose sweeping green-energy mandates. We also included a few bills the Party supports, such as making NY a Purple Heart State.

We are proud to say that 7 Senators and 9 Assemblymembers earned a perfect score. Their commitment to principle clearly stood out in fighting against one-party-rule in Albany. Their names deserve to be highlighted:

Senators with a Perfect Score

  • Rob Ortt (62nd District)
  • George Borrello (57th District)
  • Thomas O’Mara (58th District)
  • Peter Oberacker (51st District)
  • James Tedisco (44th District)
  • Bill Weber (38th District)
  • Alexis Weik (8th District)

Assemblymembers with a Perfect Score

  • Joe Angelino (121st District)
  • Paul Bologna (144th District)
  • Ari Brown (20th District)
  • Joe DeStefano (3rd District)
  • Brian Manktelow (130th District)
  • Andrew Molitor (150th District)
  • Sam Pirozzolo (63rd District)
  • Matt Slater (94th District)
  • Mary Beth Walsh (112th District)

These lawmakers deserve real credit. Not just for how they voted, but for staying consistent in defending the rights and freedoms of the people they represent. Their leadership continues to be a bright spot in a Legislature that is otherwise controlled by radical Democrats.

The Epstein Files

After years of delays, excuses, and political maneuvering, we are finally seeing movement toward full transparency on the Epstein files. Thanks to overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress, and the backing of the President, the documents are expected to be released. As far as I’m concerned, it’s about time. The victims have waited long enough, and this country deserves the truth.

What frustrates me is watching some Democrats try to exploit this tragedy for political points. They ignored the Epstein issue for four years under President Biden, only to start pointing fingers now. Often in ways that are completely dishonest and reckless. We’ve seen everything from attempts to smear the wrong “Dr. Epstein,” to the shocking revelation that a Democratic congresswoman on the Intelligence Committee was actually texting Epstein for advice after he was already a convicted sex offender. And now, with Hakeem Jeffries under pressure, the whole strategy seems to be backfiring.

Let me be clear: this should not be a political issue. It’s a moral one. And above all, I want the victims to finally be able to feel whole and to close this awful chapter. The release of the Epstein files is a critical step toward justice and toward ensuring nothing like this is ever allowed to happen again.

A Few Words on Governor Hochul

Governor Hochul continues to prove day after day that she is the most hypocritical governor in America. During the campaign, she pledged full support for Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, even as she insisted she wasn’t in favor of raising taxes. She claimed she wanted to keep businesses in New York and prevent more families from fleeing the state. But behind the scenes? A very different story.

Multiple reports now show that Hochul is quietly preparing new ways to raise taxes to pay for programs like free buses and other costly expansions of government. It’s a familiar pattern with her: say one thing publicly, do the opposite privately.

Here are just a few examples of what I mean:

  • She talks about keeping taxes low, yet her administration continually explores new revenue schemes that hit working families the hardest. (IE- Congestion pricing)
  • She insists she supports public safety, yet she enables policies that undermine law enforcement and empower criminals. (IE- Cashless Bail)
  • She promises fiscal responsibility, but New York’s budget keeps ballooning under her watch.
  • She claims to champion transparency, yet major decisions are made behind closed doors with almost no public accountability.

For someone who brands herself as a moderate, her governing style is anything but. In my opinion, the worst governor in America also happens to be the most hypocritical one. We must hold her accountable at the ballot box in November, for the sake of our state’s future.

Enrollment Increases

Now that the election is over and officially certified, I wanted to highlight some great news regarding the Conservative Party’s enrollment growth. In November 2024, we had 158,797 active enrolled members, and as of November 2025, that number has risen to 161,187—a 1.5% increase statewide. That kind of progress doesn’t happen on its own. It reflects countless hours of organizing, outreach, and commitment at the county level. While nearly every region of the state saw gains, every leader deserves credit, but I want to recognize ten standout counties and their chairs. Running a committee is never easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding to see the fruits of that hard work pay off. Congratulations to all of you!
