2018 Assembly Ratings- Short Description of Bills Used

Constitution currently provides that a police officer must have a just and reasonable cause to stop individuals, this bill creates onerous
regulations that takes time from law enforcement officers actually doing their jobs.

15. A. 4738 – A Gottfried: CPNYS is opposed to the establishment of the New York Health Plan that seeks to establish a universal singlepayer health plan for all New Yorkers.

16. A.4696 Titus: CPNYS opposes this bill that seeks to establish a policy of equal pay for both sexes and equivalent value of work and
directs corrective action.

17. A. 4348 – A Crespo: CPNYS is opposed to this bill that seeks to establish the NYS 2020 complete count commission; CPNYS believes that this commission is unnecessary and duplicative of the work to be performed by the US Census Bureau the agency that has responsibility of assuring the census is accurate.

18. A.3358 Gottfried: CPNYS is opposed to this Orwellian thought-crimes bill and strongly believed what when a person is discriminated against there are current laws that those who harm others will be charged with.

19. A.2343 Aubry: CPNYS is opposed to this bill that would require employers to make a conditional offer of employment before inquiring about any criminal convictions of a prospective employee; this bill is unnecessary as current correction law prohibits discrimination against a person with a criminal record.

20. A.1748 Glick: CPNYS is proudly pro-life and is opposed to this bill that seeks to “update New York’s abortion statutes to address
constitutional flaws in our (New York’s) laws and recognize a woman’s fundamental right to access safe, legal abortion.”

CONSERVATIVE RATINGS RELEASED Five Assemblymen tied with 92%; Four Senators tied with 80%

Fort Hamilton Station, NY (10/24/2017) The Conservative Party released the ratings for the 2017 Legislative Session today in order to keep the electorate knowledgeable of how their state legislators voted on 25 key bills acted upon in the current session.

The Conservative Party tracks legislation throughout the session, issues support and opposition memos, and determines, at an executive committee meeting, which key issues will be used. The Bills considered include spending, crime, education, nanny state legislation, pro-life issues and various other topics that affect the lives of New Yorkers. “We believe that it is necessary to keep the public informed of key votes and let the taxpayers be aware of how elected officials spend our money. Every Bill is considered, and then we narrow the number to give voters a fair assessment of what transpires in Albany,” said Michael R. Long, State Chairman.

“A review of the Bills used this year will show voters how some are specious or costly and others will show how they help New Yorkers.” said Long.

The five Assemblymen tied with 92% are Kevin M. Byrne – 94 AD, Joseph A. Errigo – 133 AD, Michael J. Fitzpatrick – 8 AD, Christopher S. Friend – 124 AD, and Stephen Hawley – 139 AD. The four Senators tied with 80% are Fred Akshar – 52 SD, Kathleen A. Marchione – 43 SD, Sue Serino– 41 SD and James Tedisco – 49 SD.

This year the overall Senate Rating is 55% down from 69% last year. The conservative endorsed Senators average was 68% down from last year’s 79%; the democrats averaged 41% down from last year’s 57%. The Assembly’s overall rating was 37% down from 42% last year. Conservative endorsed Assembly Members averaged 74% up from last year’s 71%, while the Assembly Democrats averaged 21% down from 29%.

“Voters are encouraged to contact their legislators to remind them that conservative fiscal policy and principles make New York business friendly and encourages entrepreneurs to open businesses here to provide jobs and keep families here in the Empire State,” Long concluded.

CONSERVATIVES RATE LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS Assemblyman Dean Murry scores highest with 95% Senators Akshar and Felder highest in Senate with 90% score

Fort Hamilton Station, NY (10/11/16) The Conservative Party released its ratings for the 2016 Legislative Session today in order to let the electorate know how their legislators voted on 20 key bills acted upon in the 2016 Legislative Session.

The Conservative Party tracks legislation throughout the session, issues support and opposition memos, and determines, at an executive committee meeting, which key issues including spending, crime, education, nanny state legislation and various other topics that affect the lives of New Yorkers, will be used. “We believe that it is necessary to keep the public informed of these key votes and let the taxpayers be aware of how elected officials spend our money. Every bill is considered, and then we choose a reasonable number to give voters a fair assessment of how tax dollars are spent, laws that effect the cost of doing business and the safety of citizens living in New York,” said Mike Long, State Chairman.

“A review of the twenty bills used in this year’s ratings will show voters how some passed bills are specious or costly to taxpayers and where they will help New Yorkers,” said Long. “The ratings give voters a scorecard on how their individual legislator voted on a diverse range of bills considered in the legislative session,” said Long.

“Assemblymen Dean Murray is the highest scoring member (95%) in this year’s ratings. Senators Fred Akshar and Simcha Felder scored the highest in the Senate with 90%,” Long stated

This year the overall New York State Senate rating is 69.5%, up from last year’s 62%. The Conservative endorsed legislators in the Senate scored 79.7%, while the Democrats scored a 57.4% average. The Assembly increased their overall average bringing it up to 41.8%. Conservative endorsed Assembly Members averaged 71%, while the Assembly Democrats averaged 29.5%.

“Before going to the voting booth in just 4 weeks, voters should review our ratings and consider how their legislators represented them. Conservative principles work for taxpayers and for businesses, voting for officials committed to conservative principles is the only way New York will be able to stop the hemorrhaging of people and jobs,” concluded Long.

The Conservative Party tracks legislation throughout the session, issues support and opposition memos, and determines, at an executive committee meeting, which key issues including spending, crime, education, nanny state legislation and various other topics that affect the lives of New Yorkers, will be used. “We believe that it is necessary to keep the public informed of these key votes and let the taxpayers be aware of how elected officials spend our money. Every bill is considered, and then we narrow the number to give voters a fair assessment of spending, laws that effect the cost of doing business and the safety of living in New York,” said Mike Long, State Chairman.

“A review of the twenty-five bills used in this year’s ratings will show voters how some passed bills are specious or costly to taxpayers and others will show how they will help New Yorkers,” said Long. “The ratings give voters a scorecard on how their individual legislator voted on a diverse range of bills considered in the legislative session,” said Long.

“Assemblyman Nojay was the highest scoring member overall with 96%, in this year’s ratings. Seven Senators tied as the highest scored in the Senate with 76%.

This year the overall New York State Senate rating is 62%, up from last year’s 56.7%. The conservative endorsed Senate average was 72.75%. The democrats in the Senate averaged 50%. The Assembly did better than last year with an overall rating of 37%, up from 25.18% last year. The conservative endorsed Assembly members averaged 74.4% while the democrat Assembly members averaged 21%.

“Voters should review our ratings and remind their legislators that conservative fiscal policies works for taxpayers and for businesses and conservative values strengthen the principles our great country was founded on,” concluded Long.
