Gillibrand, Schumer Bottom of the Barrel in National Conservative Rating: New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn-NY…“The American Conservative Union just released its latest ratings of U.S. legislators, and it’s no surprise to see that Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer have about the worst conservative voting records in America. Ms. Gillibrand, who claimed to be a gun-toting moderate when she first ran for Congress, had a 3% conservative rating for 2023, while liberal Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer managed to slightly outdo Gillibrand with a 2% conservative rating.

“Scores that low aren’t easy to come by. You’ve got to be a real left-wing ideologue to rank that poorly. But what these ratings make absolutely clear is just how out of touch the Empire State’s U.S. Senate representatives are with the average New Yorker. That’s what happens when you live and breathe each day in elite, progressive ivory towers.

“Fortunately, Ms. Gillibrand is up for reelection this year, and we’re confident that Republican-Conservative Senate challenger Michael Sapraicone will thoroughly educate everyday New Yorkers about Ms. Gillibrand’s strident left-wing voting record. New York is facing so many problems under one-party Democrat rule, and Ms. Gillibrand’s and Mr. Schumer’s voting records are a major contributor. If we want to save New York, they both need to go, one after the other.”

Under his leadership, the Party has a solid track record of victories with an expanding membership and vote tally.  Ron, a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, has, in addition to his Party responsibilities, held numerous local public offices. Chung Dick, who hails from Kings County, joined the Party’s State leadership while playing key roles in several Brooklyn Party victories. Chung, a commercial movie producer and successful NYC businessman, brought the Party’s message of secure borders, a strong national defense, and anti-communist values to New York State’s fast-growing Asian American communities.

Patriots Podium Featuring Senator George Borrello

For episode number 21 of Patriots Podium we were delighted to have on NYS Senator, George Borrello (R/C) who covers the 57th Senatorial District. George is also the Chairman of the Senate Republican Campaign Committee (SRCC) which is one of the driving forces that helps recruit, guide, and fundraise for Republican/Conservative candidates statewide. The Conservative Party shares the same goals as the Senate GOP in working to overcome the left wing state senate democratic majority. George is a former County Executive and local official who hails from Chautauqua County. In this episode we discuss the ins and outs of Albany, Hochuls Budget, public safety, and much more. State Party in the News

Over the past week, the Conservative Party has had a heavy presence in media reaching across the state. Everybody who receives these weekly wrap ups understands our State is in severe trouble and we need change. Now, and come this November 5th, more and more common sense voters will appeal to the Conservative Party. Why you may ask? The answers are simple, Democrat Policies are making NY uninhabitable.

Instead of fixing the evident issues facing our State and City, two representatives appointed to a committee considering paying reparations claimed whites were responsible for climate change, slammed Israel and pushed to defund the police. I stated “The commission on reparations was ridiculous from the start. This proves it,”…“These sound like people who have preconceived notions of what they view as white privilege. Unbelievable. There’s no way these appointees should serve on the commission given their comments.” You can read the full article here:

Another clear example would be Mayor Adams recent escapade, which entails planning to install “life alert” devices in apartments to help drug users avoid overdosing. And yes, you guessed it, it will be tax-payer funded. In addition to increasing usage among addicts. City health officials should be helping addicts kick the habit completely rather than condoning or enabling drug use. I stated “Can you imagine Alcoholic Anonymous coming up with a program that allowed you to drink booze? This is using taxpayer resources to allow drug use. It’s a continuation of drug injection sites.” You can read the full article here:

Recently, I went on the Dominic Carter Show on WABC to discuss congestion pricing, which is one of the disastrous policies being forced upon NYC residents by Governor Hochul and Democrats. You can listen to our discussion here: I have never seen a tax or a toll the Democrats haven’t tried to raise over the years, this is only the beginning.

Combine just a few of these issues facing New York State residents, and one would understand why people are fleeing the state in droves and contributing to our population decline. “New York City lost six percent of its population between 2020 and 2023, and the State as a whole has shed hundreds of thousands of residents over the same period of time. One would think that Democrats running the city and state would realize there’s a problem, and a massive one at that. But one would be wrong. Read the full press release here

Lastly, to no one’s surprise, NYS is still holding a Presidential Primary despite Donald J. Trump being the Republican/Conservative presumptive nominee and Joe Biden being the Democrat’s presumptive nominee. I stated “It’s a waste of money. There should be a way to cancel the election. There should be an escape clause to make the primary go away. The Conservative Party would support such a change. Trump and Biden have clinched the nomination and other candidates have withdrawn. Twenty five million dollars, the amount New York City is spending to hold the presidential primary, is a lot of money. You can double that total to $50 million statewide.” You can read the full article here

Statement on New York City Population Loss by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn-NY…“New York City lost six percent of its population between 2020 and 2023, and the State as a whole has shed hundreds of thousands of residents over the same period of time. One would think that Democrats running the city and state would realize there’s a problem, and a massive one at that. But one would be wrong.

“Instead of acknowledging the obvious issues forcing people to leave — unending taxes, crime, and a diminishing quality of life  — Democrats preposterously point to the increase in the illegal migrant population, as though that makes up for the wide scale loss of legal, tax paying citizens.

“Rather than seeking to address the root causes of the exodus, Democrat leaders, like Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams, are adding more obstacles to the lives of everyday New Yorkers. Their arbitrary $15 congestion pricing tax is a perfect example. Two successive Republican administrations showed how a city should be revived: enforce the law, reduce the tax and bureaucratic load on individuals and businesses, and get out of the way of entrepreneurship. Will they ever learn?”

Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 3/15/24

Tik Tok

As you might have noticed over the years, the New York State Conservative Party has never been on Tik Tok. While we have a very large and active media presence on almost every social media platform, we made the common sense decision to not indulge in a Communist owned company.

We have known for years the application of Tik Tok is run by Chinese Communists secretly collecting data from Americans. Now, Americans know the truth behind one of America’s biggest national security threats after the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversaries Controlled Application Act.”

It’s obvious the Conservative Party has a distaste for a platform that pushes Communist and anti-American propaganda on a daily basis. This app was cleverly designed to brainwash our most vulnerable groups and target our youth. The House was right in their decision to hold Tik Tik accountable, and the Senate should not waste any time following suit.

Whoopi Calls Out Hochul

We all know “The View” show is run by a bunch of lunatic leftists with a clear liberal agenda. Recently, they had on Governor Hochul to discuss the current State of New York. While it’s evident  our state is falling apart, the View hosts indulged Kathy’s selfishness and failed to press her on issues failing our state.

Crime is still rising through the roof, citizens continue to leave in droves, there is an immigration crisis, an economic collapse, and countless other issues impacting New Yorkers. What is the Governor’s response? Blame Republicans and Conservatives in a state controlled by one-party Democratic rule. This has been the playbook for the Democrat Party in New York for some time, and New Yorkers are waking up to the game.

In this one shocking instance, Whoopie Goldberg, a lifetime New Yorker, ripped Governor Hochul on Congestion pricing. You can view the article here. Since its inception, the Conservative Party has taken a strong stance against Congestion pricing in New York. It is another cash grab by the Government that will charge people $15 dollars just to enter parts of the City. This is absurd and will only hurt the lower-middle class families. Simply put, New York has a spending problem, and until we fix that, Congestion pricing tax and higher MTA fees will not save New York’s Economy.

Schumer’s Ignorance

Senator Chuck Schumer took the Senate floor, and world, by shock delivering his speech that might be interference in Israeli elections. “The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after 10/7.” This is the quote echoing across the world from one of the highest-ranking Democrats and Legislators in the Nation. Schumer is trying to lay out the groundwork to get directly involved with our foreign allies’ election process, citing the lack of confidence he has in Netanyahu to ensure the future of Israel and its people. You can view his unsettling speech here.

The New York State Conservative Party would recommend Mr. Schumer take a good look in the mirror and focus on the issues facing his own state and nation before meddling in Israeli Democracy. Conservative/Republican endorsed Councilwoman Inna Vernikov, who has been a fierce advocate for Israel, had a great response to Schumer. In short, she enlightened how no Democrats are calling for new elections in Gaza, while the tyrannical government of Gaza is run by ravenous murderers, also known as Hamas. The ignorance and double standards should frighten everyone.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

President Trump, who became the presumptive nominee of the NYS Conservative Party two weeks ago wrapped up the national GOP nomination this past week with a near sweep of Super Tuesday GOP primaries. See our press release here:

The Conservative Party in New York is the sole second line the former President will carry in the nation. This is due to New York’s fusion voting laws which allow the Conservative Party to join with another political party for purposes of a unified candidacy.  In August, the Conservative Party and NYS Republican Party will nominate a joint slate of 28 Trump electors.

The action now moves over to the general election and the growing speculation that President Biden, because of infirmities that are eroding voter confidence and support, will bow out.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, their farm team is limited with their leading prospects supportive of the many failed policies of Biden, Schumer, and former Speaker Pelosi. Every day with every poll and dinner table conversation it becomes more clear that America wants a change in leadership at the top.

THE STATE OF THE UNION

This nation is suffering a variety of problems, domestically and internationally, and President Biden’s highly partisan address tonight did nothing to fix them. His speech, which can only be described as wandering and angry, confirms the need for change at the top. You can read the press release here:

CONSERVATIVE PARTY TO PRESENT J. DANIEL MAHONEY AWARDS

Daniel Mahoney award at a reception to be held on Monday, March 25th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Fort Orange Club in Albany located at 110 Washington Avenue, Albany NY 12210. Statement on Campaign Suspension of Governor Nikki Haley and Conservative Party Endorsement of President Trump by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn-NY…“President Trump’s victories in the Super Tuesday primaries, followed by Governor Haley’s suspension of her campaign, sets the stage for the November election. The New York State Conservative Party strongly supports the former President and will work tirelessly to help elect him in November. Joe Biden’s reckless migration policies are creating chaos across the nation, and his wild federal spending continues to hit the pocketbooks of every American. A change at the top is desperately needed.”

Statement on Unanimous SCOTUS Decision to Protect Trump’s Right to Appear on Colorado Ballot by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn-NY…“It’s heartening to see a Supreme Court unanimously agreeing that The People — not the courts  — are the ultimate arbiter of who stands for President.  President Trump’s victory today is a victory for all Americans. The Court wisely knew where the boundaries of federalism lay, and for that we all should be relieved.”

Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up 3/1/24

REAPPORTIONMENT

On Monday, the State Legislature voted to reject the Congressional maps from the Independent Redistricting Commission that passed by a 9 to 1 vote the previous week. See our press release here. On Wednesday, the Legislature voted to approve and the Governor signed legislation establishing new Congressional lines that, with few exceptions, were identical to what was rejected on Monday. Which in turn, was very similar to what existed in 2022. The 2022 lines were created by a court-ordered special master after the lines produced by the Legislature in 2022 were thrown out after being declared by a court to be a partisan gerrymander.

My takeaway is that millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted by Democratic legislative leaders who had trouble coming to grips with Congressional maps that were fair and equitable. Stops and starts produced by their legislative henchmen eventually fell victim to the threat of new lawsuits and delays that could ultimately hurt Democratic efforts.

The final maps, although violating the national 2% (they went in some cases as high as 6%) standard in legislative adjustments when reviewing Independent Commission-produced maps essentially were the same as the maps that were used in 2022.  There are many solid GOP/Conservative districts as well as several fair fight districts currently held by members of both parties.

The Democratic leadership was searching for ways to explain the outcome, in as much as they looked petty and small-minded as they worked against community interests until it became apparent that they were going to find themselves in court once again.

As an aside, when all else fails, Albany Democrats look to fix the courts by restricting reapportionment and political litigation to only heavily dominated Democratic courts in the state. That is exactly what the Democrats in the Legislature are working to accomplish with the Democratic Governor a willing ally.  Boss Tweed could learn a lesson or two from the current crop of Democratic Party leadership.

PRESIDENT TRUMP RECEIVES PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE STATUS

The New York State Conservative Party’s Executive Committee declared Donald Trump the presumptive nominee of the Party after 20 counties holding 56% of the Party’s weighted vote officially came out in support of the former President. The rest of the counties are expected to follow with the State Convention set by state law to be held in August.

The first county committee to endorse Trump in late 2023 was Richmond County. Last week, Erie County put Mr. Trump over 50% and with the recent endorsement of Kings County, the number reached 56%. The full list of the counties, in no order, that have to date endorsed Trump are: Broome, Dutchess, Greene, Onondaga, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, Wayne, Bronx, Richmond, St Lawrence, Suffolk, Queens, Oswego, Erie, Westchester, Kings, Schenectady.

Statement on Democrat’s Cynical Rejection of Fair and Equitable Congressional District Lines by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn-NY…“An impartial court established fair and equitable congressional district lines in New York State two years ago, which every voter, regardless of political party affiliation, should want. Competitive elections are central to American democracy.

“But Governor Kathy Hochul and the Democrat-controlled New York State Legislature don’t want fair and equitable congressional races in New York. They want a cynical leg up in every contest possible, and their rejection today of the Independent Redistricting Commission lines speaks volumes about their ethics and intentions. This is politics as usual in Albany, and New Yorkers voters should be outraged.”

NEW YORK STATE CONSERVATIVE PARTY DESIGNATES DONALD J. TRUMP AS PARTY’S PRESUMPTIVE NOMINEE

Brooklyn, NY…The New York State Conservative Party today announced that former President Donald J. Trump is its presumptive nominee for President in 2024.

The designation was made following a meeting of the Party’s executive committee on Saturday in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. President Trump has received the support of every Conservative Party county committee that has completed the nomination process, constituting 56 percent of the Party’s weighted vote to date, and the remaining county committees are expected to endorse Mr. Trump for re-election in the coming weeks.

“President Trump is the clear choice of the Conservative Party county committees, and while some counties have yet to confirm their nominee, it’s abundantly obvious that Mr. Trump will again be our candidate for President,” said State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar. “The Conservative Party is proud to support a native son for the nation’s highest office for a third straight election cycle. President Biden and his progressive colleagues have brought chaos to this state in the form of violent crime, mass illegal migration, and crippling inflation. The Conservative Party will be proudly working beside the Trump campaign from now until November in every corner of this state.”

The Conservative Party will make its nomination official at its August convention.
