Barack Learned Well from Rev. Wright

Ft. Hamilton Station, NY – "I find it hard to believe that Senator Obama wants us to believe that he did not hear and was not in the pews for Rev. Jeremiah Wright sermons that were filled with anger and bitterness, when his remarks last week were very similar to what his pastor has preached," Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long said.

"When Senator Obama stated last week in San Francisco that 'it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations' it certainly sounded like a toned-down version of many of the things that Rev. Jeremiah Wright preached.

Friday, Sen. Obama stated, "No, I'm in touch. I know exactly what is going on. I know what's going on in Pennsylvania, I know what's going on in Indiana, I know what's going on in Illinois...People are fed up, they're angry, they're frustrated, they're bitter and they want to see change in Washington." Obama was defending his earlier remarks and it became clear to me that he learned well from Rev. Wright.

For twenty years, the good Senator heard how angry and bitter the Reverend was and he brought his family to Rev. Wright to learn as well. Rev. Wright's angry rhetoric, in God's name, became apparent when Senator Obama stated that people cling to religion due to bitterness rather than hope, Long said. His Pastor did not teach him God's love and understanding, he taught him that angry, bitter people cling to religion and Rev. Wright's lessons were regrettably learned well by Senator Obama.
