Eliot Spitzer has promised Big Labor $33 billion in new taxpayer-funded health care benefits, and $28 billion in new education spending with NO accountability reforms. He’s promised to force taxpayers like you to bankroll political campaigns – to the tune of $80 million. Plus, Eliot Spitzer has promised the liberal special interests that he will legalize homosexual marriage, and that he will expand abortion-on-demand in New York. The costs of these policies to our society are incalculable. His blatant coddling of the Working Families Party means New York state should embrace for the most liberal agenda our state has ever seen. And then there’s Hillary Clinton. Her fellow liberals in Congress want to raise taxes by an estimated $2.4 TRILLION. And as Hillary gears up for her 2008 presidential campaign, she’s pushing her old favorites like government-rationed health care for you and every American.
Whatever you can send, I hope to hear from you right away. Your Conservative Party Sustaining Membership has never been more important. Eliot Spitzer, Hillary Clinton and their liberal allies have seized complete control of our state. That leaves the Conservative Party as the only voice of dissent in New York. That won’t change now that Spitzer is Governor…and that means you and I must work harder than ever to get the facts out about how much the liberals’ agenda will cost New York, and how their policies will damage our culture. ü Recruit strong conservative candidates. Rest assured grassroots citizens like you will not be happy when they see the real impact of Eliot Spitzer’s real liberal agenda – from higher taxes and uncontrolled spending to outright moral decay. We must make sure every politician who supports the Spitzer Agenda is held accountable. And to convince good conservative candidates to run, we have to prove we can support them. ü Mobilize voters at the grassroots. Having good candidates on the ballot is just the first step. We have to make sure informed, outraged voters get to the polls and vote Conservative in each and every election, at all levels of our state’s government. ü Remind Republicans in state government to embrace the Conservative agenda that so many New Yorkers support Even in a disappointing year like 2006, we can see how your support helped us meet these challenges. We got Conservative voters out to the polls even though they were being told that it was a lost cause. The result: We got almost 130,000 votes on the Conservative Party line. Even with the last minute $250,000 contribution Spitzer provided, the Conservative Party kept our ballot position above the left-wing Working Families Party. This year we have to stand strong and speak out for what we believe in. We have to keep New Yorkers informed on exactly what Eliot Spitzer is doing to hurt our state and raise taxes. And we have to let America know about Hillary Clinton’s real liberal agenda – BEFORE she takes over the White House.
