Daily Update

The weekend was not a “good news weekend” for Mayor de Blasio, and he has no one to blame but himself.  Here are a few of the articles etc. about his trip to Germany to bash our president:  Malliotakis on Fox News; Jeanine Pirro on his jetting off; One News Now carried Ms. Pirro’s remarks;  Ed Mullings, head of the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association; the NY Post editorial page (07072017); today’s NY Post editorial page;  and Townhall.com’s Matt Vespa who combined some of the articles for a PR nightmare.

Upstate New York mourns the loss of another law enforcement officer, State Trooper Joel R. Davis, shot to death last evening.  This was not an assassination; as Trooper Davis was responding to shots fired during a domestic incident.  His death reminds us that every man and woman in law enforcement risk their lives every single day.  We pray for his family and pray that the senseless killing of innocent people ends.

The Washington Times opines on Illinois’ march to the poorhouse…unfortunately, New York isn’t far behind.

President Trump:  It is time to set your sights on the IRS; this kind of abuse must end.

Toomey: New Health Care Bill Is Coming Monday.  Meanwhile, the NY Post thinks that Senator Ted Cruz’s compromise could save health care reform.

Guy Benson takes the hard left to task in his Townhall.com today.

Robert Knight opines on the real news from Poland.
